Terms of use

The conditions on which this site and its tools are made available. Plain language has been preferred wherever it does not lose precision.

Last updated 14 August 2026

1. Agreement

By using eltpub.org (“the site”) you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. The site is operated by Dr. Ngo Cong-Lem as an independent project (“ELT Pub”, “we”).

2. What the site provides

ELT Pub publishes editorial articles and provides free research tools. Everything here is offered for general informational and educational purposes to a professional audience of researchers, educators, and students.

Nothing on this site is professional advice. In particular, nothing here is legal advice, career advice, or a substitute for your institution's own policies on publication, promotion, research integrity, or the acceptable use of artificial intelligence. Where a decision matters — a submission, a promotion file, a funding application, an integrity allegation — verify with the primary source and with the body that will actually assess you.

3. The tools

The tools are provided free of charge, without warranty, and on an “as is” basis. They are screening and reflection aids. They are not certifications, accreditations, or verdicts.

Tool outputs may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Data is refreshed from annual snapshots and third-party sources that change without notice. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on.

4. Third-party data and trade marks

Journal metrics, quartiles, subject categories, and open-access status derive from the SCImago Journal Rank dataset (built on Scopus data). Index membership derives from Clarivate's Master Journal List. Publication records come from OpenAlex. Journal integrity resources are linked from Think. Check. Submit., COPE, and comparable public initiatives.

ELT Pub is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Google, Elsevier, Scopus, SCImago, Clarivate, OpenAlex, or any publisher or indexing service. All trade marks are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the sources of data.

5. Your use of the site

You agree not to:

6. Intellectual property and reuse

Articles, explanatory text, tool interfaces, and site design are © ELT Pub and Dr. Ngo Cong-Lem unless stated otherwise.

You are welcome, without asking, to quote reasonable extracts for teaching, research, review, and commentary, with attribution and a link to the source page. Please do not republish whole articles, translate them, or use them to train models for redistribution without written permission. Underlying third-party datasets remain subject to their own licences and are not ours to sublicense.

7. External links

The site links to external resources we consider useful. We do not control them, are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link does not imply endorsement.

8. Advertising

The site may display advertising to help cover hosting costs. Advertisements are supplied by third parties and are not editorial content. Their presence does not imply endorsement of any advertised product or service, and advertisers have no influence on what is published here or on how tools report their results. See the privacy notice for how advertising interacts with your consent choices.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and tools are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any result obtained from it is accurate or reliable. Fuller detail is set out in the disclaimer.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ELT Pub and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, reputation, or professional standing, arising from your use of or inability to use the site or its tools — including any decision about where to submit, publish, or cite made in reliance on them.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Availability and changes

This is a self-funded project. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site or any tool at any time, without notice and without liability.

These terms may be updated. Material changes are reflected in the “last updated” date above, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms may be sent to ngoconglem@gmail.com.

These terms describe how the site is operated and are written for transparency. They are not legal advice, and they do not create a professional relationship of any kind between you and the site operator.
