What the statuses mean
- Eligible
- The journal is in an agreement your institution takes part in. Corresponding authors from your institution can usually publish open access without paying the article fee themselves.
- Discount
- The agreement gives your institution a reduced article fee for this journal, not full coverage.
- Not eligible
- Your institution is not in this agreement, or the journal is excluded from it for your institution.
Check before you submit. Agreements usually cover only the corresponding author, can apply only to certain article types, and some cap the number of articles a year, so funding can run out before December. Your library's open access page has the rules and the current balance. Some journals carry extra notes, shown when you open them.
Data: the CAUL Read & Publish title list for 2026, as published by the Council of Australian University Librarians, covering agreements negotiated for Australian and New Zealand member institutions. ELT Pub is not affiliated with CAUL, and lists change during the year, so treat this as a first check and confirm with your library or the publisher.
