How months and years are counted. Calendar time uses the average Gregorian year: 365.2425 days, so a month is 30.44 days and 4.35 weeks. Real months run from 28 to 31 days, so treat month and year figures as averages.
Between two dates uses real calendar months: from 31 January to 28 February is 28 days, or "4 weeks". The decimal month and year figures count each part-month against its own length. Working days are Monday to Friday, and public holidays are not removed.
Working time counts only working hours. With the default 8-hour day and 5-day week, a week is 40 hours, a month is 173.3 hours (52 weeks ÷ 12), and a year is 2,080 hours. A working-time month is the same as a person-month, as used in grant budgets. Holidays and leave are not subtracted, so adjust the hours or days if your institution uses a different figure.
